Our library is still on Facebook, but only as a group

Last year about this time Facebook decided that libraries were not real and deleted all library profiles from around the country, including ours. Ah - but that has not deterred us. We have come back as a group - right now it is a very small group - only four people, and we would love to have more members. Look for the group Otterbein's Courtright Memorial Library - post a comment or ask a question.

Round 3 - March Madness Library Syle

We are down to the elite eight television shows, but which one will make it into our collection? We had 379 votes and the big winners were the major networks, doctors, and crime. No animated shows made it into the third round, or anything from cable stations. The closest race saw Law & Order (the original show) defeat Desperate Housewives by a mere 8 votes. At the other end, Six Feet Under was (insert lame grave joke here - buried perhaps? put to rest?) by Scrubs. But that was the last round! Who will go on from here? You can get a pdf of the third round tournament bracket that shows you votes from the first two rounds as well as which shows are going head to head this round. Voting will end on Friday, March 30th at midnight.

Get documentary films online & high quality images

OhioLINK's Digital Media Center has a new look that makes it great for browsing and seeing what is available. But the new look gives us an opportunity to remind you what you can find. Need a video for a class presentation? Check out all the films , such as "Living with ADHD or Spanish language videos" that you can view using RealPlayer. Also, there is a great selection of art and photographs, such as Andy Warhol or the Wright Brothers, in high resolution that look great downloaded for powerpoint presentations and posters.

Round 2 - March Madness Library Style

So which television show will be added to our collection? The first round ended with 401 votes cast. The closest race saw The O.C. defeat Prison Break by a mere 3 votes. On the other hand, The Office crushed Curb your Enthusiasm with more than 300 votes. But that was the last round! Who will go on from here? You can get a pdf of the second round tournament bracket that shows you votes from the first round as well as which shows are going head to head this round. Voting will end for the second round March 20th, to give everyone a chance to return from spring break.

March Madness TV show competition

Most of the time you use the library for research, but sometimes you would like to check out a movie, or catch up on a television show everyone is talking about. Here is your chance to determine which television show the library should add to the collection. But, in honor of March Madness, your favorite television shows, 32 of them in fact, are going head to head over the course of a month. Whichever show wins will be collected in its entirety. For example, if Friends wins, we would buy the full run of the show. Here is the tournament bracket as a pdf.
